In residence at A4 from 4–18 February, the P_ssy Party Academy offered learning sessions and workshops to five aspiring DJs in our Reading Room. Their residency culminated in a celebration upstairs at A4 – which coincided with the Investec Cape Town Art Fair's Gallery Night – and featured P_ssy Party co-founders Phatstoki and Rosie Parade on the decks, alongside the academy's participants and P_ssy Party Academy alumnus JADEGOTTAGETPAID. In addition to their live performances, participants collaborated on a zine titled ASSK FIRST.

P_ssy Party is a Johannesburg-based incubator for women and queer DJs. Through its events and DJ workshops, P_ssy Party is making South African club culture a safer, more diverse space.

A4's Reading Room is an adaptable space built to solve for form depending on its required function. At once a book-ish environment for reading and contemplation adjacent to A4's Library, the Reading Room's interleading doors become walls when locked to create a stand-alone project room that has hosted exhibitions, events, and projects.
